My husband and I have been married for 23 years, and gave up Valentines Day and Christmas gifts many years ago. Why, because he is the most romantic person in the world and we do all those nice things for each other all the time. We have no need for special days that we have to share with everyone else. More people should try it. I think it is more fun to be remembered on a day that the media doesn't have to remind you, and it is a lot more fun. Keep up the good work. It's generally considered the happiest holiday, but the suicide rates are higher at Christmas time as well. When you're supposed to be happy and you're not, people get all down on life. But it shouldn't be that way. If V-day is not a romantic holiday for you, no biggie. Seriously, holidays don't need to be balanced like an equation. It’s alot like Christmas.
