Introduction
JCZ:
PUA means Pickup Artist. You might have heard of the book 'The Game' by Neil Strauss? In that book, based on real life by the way, the 'hardcore' PUA's play a prominent role.
When I started googling for ways to get better 'with girls', I eventually found out about the PUA community. I still find that a somewhat exciting idea, a community with people dedicated to be extremely good in 'getting the girl in bed'. And there my interests end, because that's what it seems all about to them: getting girls into bed.
I still find it oddly compelling that some men can 'get' a lot of women just by talking or behaving in a certain way. In a way, it's good news. As long as one treats women right, and doesn't take advantage of them. Which some PUA's seem to do.
Scott D:
Oh, right. I'm with you on that whole thing... I think some of their techniques can be useful, but I've noticed a lot of their suggestions have to do with either being fake or working towards only one goal--getting her in bed. I'm the kind of guy who is looking for a serious, long-term relationship, not just a girl to have fun with, so I generally avoid that kind of place.
Alex:
I'll write something on the subject at a later time... Because as you guys say, there are "bright sides" and there are some darker ones.
I don't have anything against "fooling around with girls" without looking for a relationship, it just has to come from the right place.
And for many PUA's, it doesn't.
Later.

Cpt. Jackal:
Folks, to me the issue of getting better with girls became secondary the moment I understood this simple reality:
It's all about being yourself and being happy with it. If you have passion, self confidence, and you live your life having fun through the ups and downs, hell, the girls will all be there, so don't make them your main goal.
It's also true that we are born alone and we die alone, therefore we are the only people who will always be there for us, no matter what and no matter when. All the rest is helpful and nice, but WE are the focus of our lives, and WE make the decisions.
That, to me, sets the fine line between being a PUA and a real man. I guess both get the girl, but who treats her like another human being, and who gets to keep her? ;)
abogatir:
You hit the nail on the head Captain, a true man is happy with himself and makes others around him happy.
