I absolutely agree with you, Cpt. Jackal. That said, I must also say that the whole girl-thing was holding me back tremendously.
I regularly visit this blog featuring personal development advice. The advice of this writer also seems to be: focus on being yourself and on having good relationships, not on romantic pursuit only.
Well, that works for certain people. Romance always meant a lot to me, so I always felt I wasn't reaching my full potential. And being 'scared' of girls can hold you back with guys as well. For example, what does this guy that's so good with women have that I don't have? The answer is: nothing! He just has the nerve. A nerve that will not only come in handy talking to women. I'm currently trying to use it to work on my relationship with my manager, which I'm sure you'll agree is an important one. ;)
